February 15, 2011 at 5:22 pm (13 years ago)Hi Sheen!
I’m also pleased to meet people like you, who care for the Beauty of people and planet ๐
My sincere Congratulations for your brand! It takes courage nowadays to “go on a green path” ๐ But when things are done with heart, there is no reason to worry.
I prefer to take time and check this kind of things (which I really like to do) carefully and with feeling, with no hurry, to get some inspiration. Then I’ll let you know by email. I will surely have questions for you, too, cause I’m sure you are good in your job!
Best wishes,
Dasha

April 25, 2011 at 7:26 pm (12 years ago)Greetings, Dasha!
I was introduced to your blog by Sheen, who highly recommended that I contact you. I am a professional makeup artist with Estee Lauder, and I also accept my own clients as an individual businesswoman. I am extremely interested in organic and holistic skincare and makeup, because I believe it goes against common sense to apply unnatural ingredients to the largest organ in the human body. I’ve found it quite difficult to access quality products in this country, and I would love to network and learn from you. I’ve strongly considered traveling to Europe over the summer to pursue my endeavor, and I would love to have any recommendations or guidance you will offer. Your blog is fascinating, and I cannot wait to try some of the products you mention!
All my best,
Adrienne

April 25, 2011 at 8:33 pm (12 years ago)Hello Adrienne!
I’m glad that Sheen has put us in touch and that you are interested and aware about what we are putting on our skin. In my opinion, the best thing is that we contact through email for the beginning. So, if you want, drop me an email (it’s on the first page on the blog) and let me know what are your questions, thoughts, interests, so that I can help you. Feel free to ask whatever you’re interested in.
Best to you!

I am creating a womens wellness network membership site and I am looking for contributing writers who write on different topics but with a healthy spin. I love 100percent pure and I love your articles. Would you be interested in being a contributing writer for the site. Do you sell any products?
Blessings Michele:)

April 15, 2012 at 10:53 pm (11 years ago)I adore your blog and anytime I feel the need for a make-up ‘fix’ you are one of my go-to sites! I was wondering if you’ve tried http://www.etsy.com/shop/herbanluxe ? She sells vegan make-up and I’m really picky about lipstick, I need really good coverage (opaque not sheer or needing lot’s of layering to get the colour as I have dark lips) so thought I’d ask!

April 16, 2012 at 10:36 am (11 years ago)Hello! Thank you! I’m glad you find something useful for you ๐ The link that you sent seems very interesting (good ingredients and nice products), but I haven’t tried it yet. If you will, feel free to share your thoughts about it ๐ If the lipstick is like on the picture, it does not seem sheer, but quite opaque.

June 7, 2012 at 10:17 pm (11 years ago)Hi Dasha,
I’ve recently discovered that my eyes have become extremely sensitive to make-up usually causing them to itch or become irritated. I went without make-up for a couple weeks and gradually eliminated make-up that seemed to cause reactions. I’m gradually turning to green make-up so I know exactly what is going on my face. Do you have a recipe or recommendation for a natural eye liner with a purple tint and/or waterproof mascara?

June 8, 2012 at 2:53 pm (11 years ago)Hi Juliet!
I’m glad to hear that you are starting to use green cosmetics. Unfortunately, sometimes our body reminds us to do a change through pain, like in your case with irritated eyes. I’d suggest you to try also doing some exercise for eyes, because around the eye area we have lots of small muscles, that we don’t train. Consequently, that area which is very delicate, can soon become sensitive. You can stimulate some important acupressure points around the eyes with massage or tapping, or try some exercising like face yoga. It will help you a lot.
Regarding the eyeliner, Jane Iredale has great eyeliners (every type and lots of colors) with safe ingredients: https://janeiredale.com/us/en/mineral-makeup/eyeliner/liquid-eye-liner.htm
But you can also try to buy a mineral pigment in the shade you like, from Lily Lolo or Alima Pure for instance, and mix it with water and apply with an eyeliner brush. You can use the pigment as an eyeshadow as well. In my post about eyeliners (part2) I did this on the top picture: http://greenmakeup.wordpress.com/2012/05/28/how-to-apply-the-eyeliner-part-2/
So you can check how it looks like; I’ve used Alima pure powder eyeshadow Carnevale (a shimmer violet) with water.
Unfortunately, in green brands you won’t find a waterproof mascara (at least not now)…but I don’t have problems with smudging. Choose those without alcohol inside (Lavera has it and I don’t recommend it for sensitive eyes.)
Hope was helpful,
Best,
Dasha
