First, thank you Audreiana from True beauty by nature  blog who has tagged and
involved me in this “game” that I find so cute! There are many questions so I’m going straight ahead to answer them 🙂

The 12 Questions of 2012

1. Which makeup brand stood out to you most in 2012? Drugstore and High End
Since we’re talking about green beauty, which is not (yet) divided so strictly in drugstore and high end categories like conventional cosmetic is, I’m going to avoid categorizing. I’ll just answer what I like without making categories, ok? 😉
The make-up brands that really stood out for me in 2012 were:

Living nature – a nice revelation because I haven’t tried it before and so I was really surprised by the amazing quality of its products. I adore their lipsticks, liquid soft glow and other products as well!

Hiro – special collection of mineral makeup with a big choice of colors and a high pigmentation. Not to mention their fabulous collection of make-up brushes!

Oh, I have almost forgot ILIA!!! I love love their lipsticks and their entire concept! Definitely a green refreshment in terms of colors!

I have tried many other products and brands that I liked them as well, but these are definitely my favorites of 2012. I know, I cannot point out just one brand 🙂

2. Best new discovery of 2012?
Florascent just popped out from my head. It is not makeup and even though there were many new discoveries for me last year, I’m so glad I’ve found Florascent. Mostly because I was somehow disconnected from perfumes for quite a long period. And this was quite tough for me, because I love perfumes (and collected them as well in the past). I also have a highly sensitive smell – a pleasant scent can make me happy and vice versa. My intuition is very connected with my nose. The period of perfume absence in my life was influenced by going green and so avoiding all chemicals from perfumes. Which was a great and positive change for me. But I have to say that when I got the magical bottle of Florascent in my hands (and nose, hehe) I reconnected with myself again. Read my post about it to understand better what I’m talking about.

3. Best re-discovery — A product that you fall in love with over and over again?
Nvey eco eyeshadow palettes.

4. Best seasonal product 2012? Winter / Spring / Summer / Fall
Kure bazaar nail polish in Catwalk – a glamourous metallic purple shade and Smokey – a matte lacquered grey that I’d never thought would love so much. Sometimes we need to open and try new things 🙂 These are (still) my personal winter favorites.
From summer, I remember I adored the limited edition lipsticks from Ilia: Voila and Neon angel (vibrant orange and pink), Living nature’s liquid Illuminating foundation and from the same brand also the lipsticks Summer rain and Dusk.
Plus Hurraw lip balms for the entire year 🙂 I have just discovered them because I received them as a gift and I love them!

5. Best and worst Limited Edition Collections in 2012? Drugstore and High End
I don’t remember about any worst product from a limited edition. Again, I’d choose Ilia’s lipsticks mentioned above, since they were a limited edition. Even though I hope they won’t exclude them out definitely.

6. Most regretted purchase of 2012?
Hmm, I don’t think I have any. Maybe because I’m the kind of person who believe there is no wrong product, but the wrong choice and lack of knowledge where to use the product and whose needs will it suit. Maybe is because of the sharp eye, that I already intuitively avoid stuff that does not attract me. In this moment there is no bad product from 2012 that would come in my mind now.

7. Youtube and beauty highlights 2012?
2012 is really a turning point for me if we speak about Youtube. I was so inspired by Living nature, that I decided to do a video. Then I did the same with Hiro minerals. And so I had to make my channel on Youtube. I’ll see in the future, if I’ll expand it even more. This is because of the fact that I’m not a Youtube person at all. I almost don’t look at any beauty or how to videos. If I have to point out anyone, that would be just Lisa Eldridge. She is the first famous MUA who has put her knowledge out, available to everyone. I love her style of makeup where I can see myself in it often and so it really is also some kind of “support in mind” for me.

8. What is your favorite / best video on your own channel?
I just have 3 videos of mine on my Youtube chanell. I don’t have any special favorites.

9. Best recommendation of 2012 from someone else?
Real techniques. Although I knew about this brand for a long time, I somehow haven’t tried nothing, until Lynn from Lovely cosme blog has influenced me (positively of course!) to try their brushes. Some of them are really multi-use and very good synthetic brushes. I like the most the setting brush and the Expert face brush.

10. Best makeup tool 2012?
Bdellium tools brushes and the above mentioned brushes from Real techniques. Cannot say just one tool when it comes to brushes 😀 LOL
And of course the new Z palettes in faux leather that I’ve purchased right at the end of 2012. I find them great again and again and because I have finally stored all my new lipsticks!

11. What are the products you are excited to try in 2013?
Uhh, there is a never ending story with my wishlist 😀 But I’d definitely love to discover many (for me) new green brands, and I’d like to rediscover again some of the brands that I’ve worked with just when I started with green cosmetics and give them a new and fresh opinion in comparison with my opinion from that time.

12. Will you do a Makeup Collection in 2013, or an updated version?
Good idea, thanks!

That’s all from me. Thanks again for the lovely play! I’d love to tag someone new who hasn’t been tagged yet, but I’m not so involved in the blogosphere as I should be as a blogger and so I give the tag to the bloggers that have already receive it and who are the only ones I know.

The bamboo brushes look great! And the Kure Bazaar nail polishes I think I might have to try. I’m always disappointed in “natural” ones. That one looked very nice on!

Thanks for the comment! You should try Kure bazaar nail polishes, they are awesome in colors and they don’t fade away so quick since they are more natural ones. I’m going to do a new post about them soon.
      Best, Dasha
