Summer jewel

zoya nail polish

This time I want to share with you a nice and modern way to wear a nail polish and perhaps replace it instead of jewelry.

First, Thanks to my sister for the lovely gift: Zoya nail polish from this summer collection in Kerry shade. I have felt in love with this gold color immediately! It looks like the gold foil for painters (if you have present the gold foil on renaissance frescos and paintings) and it’s not the standard gold glitter shade. I like to wear it alone without any jewelry, especially without gold, so that its color pops out to make a statement.¬†It’s really nice and classic if you wear it on deep blue shades, blue-white stripes, black and it gets another dimension if worn with some bright shades like neon matte pink. I like this polish as an accessory without putting to much details around.

On the picture I wear 2 coats of the polish and I love the fact that it dries very quick! The yellow gold tone is warm and medium dark. While applying it, it glides well, it’s not too thick and not too liquid and it does not leave any strikes. Just the right polish for my needs, since I don’t like waiting too much and I’m not in general a super fan of nail polishes. But this one is really a nice summer revelation that brings some sparkles and sun!

I also went on Zoya website, where there are many other mini limited edition collections with tons of bright summer colors and finishes. Sometimes we need just a small thing to change our day ūüėČ

How to: Monochromatic makeup look

Monochromatic make-up

This summer I was inspired to create a natural makeup look in monochromatic shades. Because of the model’s perfect face features and impeccable skin, I decided not to overload the face with colors, but to keep the entire look very natural and at the same time sophisticated and radiant. Some months later, when I was checking the fashion shows, I realized that many designers have chosen this kind of look on runways. So, I decided to share with you how you can create this look for yourself, but with green products. This make-up it’s perfect for the day/office. If you want, you can upgrade it quickly into an evening look by adding eyeliner on the eyes. The main point about this look is to choose the shades for lips, cheeks, eyes (and if you want even for nails) in matching tones. For my model I have chosen warm peachy shades, cause they are the ones that suit her very well. For yourself, you can also choose other shades like sheer berry, rosy, or brown tones for example. Avoid to use just matte textures, otherwise you will end up looking washed out and too pale. Instead, search for products that have a slight shimmer in their textures.

Step by step look

1. After having cleansed and massaged the model’s face, I started with the make-up. I didn’t need to do very much regarding the base, cause her skin was perfect. I have applied just some un-cover up foundation by RMS beauty where needed.

2. With a small foundation brush ( I worked with my at-that-time new set of Natrafil brushes) I have applied a slight layer of Alima Pure finishing powder on the T-zone and under the eyes.

3. I have sculpted the face with the Everyday minerals soft bronzer. This is a light bronzer for fair skin. I wanted a natural looking contour.

4. On the top of the cheekbones I’ve applied the Inika highlighter to catch some light. It was an excellent choice for the photos, because we worked with natural light.

5. Even though it’s a blush, I’ve chosen it for its amazing color and applied it as an eyeshadow over the entire eye lid. Alima’s Satin Matte Mineral Blush in the Carnation shade worked great for this look; a matte medium peachy shade.

6. After having applied the eyeshadow into the crease of the eye, I’ve lined the upper eye lid with the Lily Lolo brown pencil and softened the line with a smudging brush for a natural look.

7. Then I’ve curled the lashes and applied the Lavera double black mascara.

8. The eyebrows were full in shape, so I just filled the gaps, where needed, to define them.

9. For the lips I decided to use first the Lavera lipstick in peach amber and then I’ve mixed it with the lip gloss 100%pure in Pink grapefruit shade to get the creamy soft effect on the lips.

Green makeup tip If you want, you can conclude the look with a non-toxic nail polish in similar shades. Zoya Sunny, a bright metallic coppery-orange with brown undertones and fine red and golden frosty shimmer, will be a nice choice.

Summer makeup tips

summer make-up

Many of you already came from the holidays, other ones still have to catch the last summer days of sun, sea and fun. Usually, we don’t wear lots of makeup in summer, especially, if we spend most time out in nature or lying on the beach. When reentering from vacations, or when going out in the evening, many women wish to prolongate their sun-kissed tan, or just to enhance it and give a touch of sparkle on the skin. I have made for you a nice list of green make-up summer products and explained the right choice of colors that enhance the bronzed skin. What we don’t want for sure are sticky and sliding products, melting and traveling all over the face.¬†Sun-kissed skin love colors like: gold, peach, salmon, chocolate brown, bronze, copper, orange,‚Ķ In summer we want to give sparkle to the eyes, to deep the tan and moisturize well the lips and the skin. If you may have freckles, which looks so lovely, never cover them!

The key is to keep everything very simple, fresh and natural with colors that enhance the tan and give that healthy glow!

Green makeup summer essentials

Satin shimmer eyeshadows

Choose a color that will bring out the color of your eyes, e.g. blue eyes will sparkle with a gold shimmer, brown eyes will shine with copper,…If you want a more harmonious look, choose among brown/bronze range. For the more courageous who love to play with make-up colors you can have fun with gold or turquoise blue shades. They look great on bronzed skin.
Green make-up loves Aqua, the sparkly blue/green mineral eyeshadow – a really striking colour from Lily lolo.
You can’t go wrong with a Gold dust from Alima pure.

Bronzer

Everyone looks better with a touch of bronzer, that enhances your white teeth and makes your skin look warmer. Read more about how to apply bronzer in one of my previous posts. The green make-up bronzer suggestion: Alima pure bronzer in many different shades for every skin tone.

Blush

If you wear bronzer and eyeshadow, you don’t need to wear blush, cause your make-up may end up looking too heavy. However, you can use just the blush on your own. Use a natural sparkling color in peach tones like Alima pure’s Sahara for a sparkling healthy look on deep tan skin. Or Juicy peach, a matte peach shade from Lily lolo will suit nicely the light tanned faces. Sweep it across the apple of the cheeks and on the eye lids with the same blush brush. It will look very natural and fresh.

Highlighter

A must-have to give you a healthy glow to the face and decollete. Pay attention to apply it just on the areas that need highlighting. Too much highlighter can make you look too greasy and shiny. If your skin is greasy and shiny, don’t use the highlighter!¬†Instead, take with you the blotting paper to eliminate the unwanted shine from the face (T-zone).
Green make-up suggested highlighter: Vapour organic beauty
If you prefer powder highlighters, choose a nice one from Everyday minerals range. They look very natural on the skin.

Lip balm or lip gloss

In summer opt for a clear lip balm to hydrate your lips. If you want a touch of color, choose sheer colors, instead of thick, dark and heavy ones. Avoid too much sparkling and sticky glosses, cause you don’t want your entire face to shine too much. Nude, natural shades like Lily lolo clear lip gloss are an appropriate choice for your lips.

Nail polish

Have fun on your nails and choose between so many colors! I have attached my favorite summer colors from Zoya. They are in the standard range of polishes: Flowie – a matte creamy peach beige for a nude day look, Jinx – quite dark brown bronze with shimmer-an everlasting classic shade for summer. Ginger – a coral orange with golden shimmer for a funny bright summer!

Green makeup tip¬†For “the lazy” ones who still want to look gorgeous¬†100 percent pure Fruit pigmented Pretty Naked¬†palette¬†is a great suggestion to look effortlessly chic anytime!

During summer say NO to: liquid and cream foundations, thick lipsticks, cream products on the eyes, heavy eyeliners and pencils.
